Description
Willy Wiedmann had a vision: helping people understand and be inspired to engage with the Bible by creating a complete, illustrated Bible in his Polycon painting style as a continuous visual narrative. He worked on the almost 1 mile long Leporello for 16 years. Since the technology was not as advanced as it is today he was not able to publish it and stored it in his attic. Decades later, when Wiedmann died, his son found the 19 leporellos containing 3,333 hand-painted images and handwritten notes. He decided to complete his father’s mission: to share the Bible with the world. Today it is known as the Wiedmann Bible and the longest illustrated Bible ever created. It is also the only existing visual narrative of the complete Old and New Testament.
